About this Hybrid Strain

Sour Dubble, also referred to as Sour Dubbs, is a pretty evenly-balanced hybrid. An older version of Sour Dubble used East Coast Sour Diesel to breed with Sour Bubble. A newer version in which the indica characteristics are slightly more pronounced has been made by BOG Seeds out of Northern California that uses Sour Diesel IBL or Inbred Line. This process of selective inbreeding is used to express dominant traits of a strain. This Sour Diesel IBL was then crossed with the almost pure Indica, Sour Bubble to bring us this newer version of Sour Dubble.

The Sour Dubble buds appear lime and neon green with patches of amber. This is due to the high level of trichomes present. They make the flower look furry and brighter overall. Long orange pistils are scattered everywhere throughout the buds. Breaking the buds open shows the true color of the long and wavy forest-green leaves lying underneath.

The odor omitted from Sour Dubble is very strong. This combined with the insane amount of trichomes hints at the potency of this strain. THC levels for this hybrid have tested up to 26%! Sour Dubble smells like gasoline and citrus fruit with hints of sandalwood. Combusting this strain releases flavors similar to fruity bubble gum, with a spicy pepper aftertaste.

This strain is noted for significantly uplifting mood and energy levels, alongside improving concentration. Users appreciate its ability to energize both the mind and body without leading to couch-lock, making it ideal for those looking to stay active and engaged. Sour Dubble is particularly favored for its potential to enhance both physical activities, such as yoga, by promoting a stronger connection between mind and muscles, and tasks requiring creativity. Typically, it is most enjoyed during daytime hours, though some have found it useful before meals to stimulate appetite. However, due to its energizing effects, it might not be the best choice just before bedtime.

Sour Dubble is very susceptible to mold and mildew, so it is probably better left for experienced cultivators. The version from BOG Seeds is reportedly more mold resistant than the others. It is a fast grower that can be ready for harvest in under 8 weeks. It produces moderate yields of about 10 ounces of flower per meter squared.

History

One version of Sour Dubble is believed to be a cross between Sour Bubble and East Coast Sour Diesel, and it tends to grow more like a sativa than an indica. The second version comes from BOG Seeds, and that one is a cross between Sour Diesel and Sour Bubble (meaning it’s a back-cross of Sour Bubble to one of Sour Bubble’s parents). The second type tends to lean more indica than sativa. Lab tests put the potencies of both cuts at around 17-19% THC.
