Digweed
About this Hybrid Strain
The story of Digweed is about as interesting as any cannabis story you will ever come across. The breeders, House of the Great Gardener in Vancouver, were looking to breed a strain with the coveted 1:1 CBD to THC ratio. To achieve this, the breeders crossed a landrace strain with an award-winning strain. Arguably the premier region on the planet for pure Indicas is the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. From here, the landrace strain Afghani was chosen to mate with the winner of the 2001 High Times Cannabis Cup’s best Indica, Sweet Tooth. The result was a strain that had an average THC level of 6-10% and a CBD level of 4-8%, thus giving the breeders the 1:1 ratio they so desired.
The breeder’s 18-year-old cat grew quite fond of the strain and was routinely caught eating it. Thus, they decided to name the strain after the cat, Digweed. This strain offers up pleasant odors of fruits, flowers, and a mellow hint of skunk. A gassy taste is evident upon combustion, then a mild euphoric cerebral high sets in that isn’t too overwhelming according to reviewers. This is followed by a lift in mood and a reduction in stress while keeping the head clear enough to handle daily obligations.
The greatest benefit this strain offers is its potent analgesic effect, due CBD to THC ratio of 1:1, which is believed by many experts to be the ideal ratio to most effectively combat pain and inflammation. Medical users with chronic pain or with chronic inflammatory diseases take note, because here is a strain that can give you a high CBD content in the proper ratio to THC without leaving you mentally incapacitated or unnecessarily couch locked. So enjoy some Digweed, then experience moving about in a better mood and in less pain while still being able to function just fine.
