Thin Mintz - hybrid Cannabis Strain by Hytiva

Hytiva's Review on Thin Mintz

Thin Mintz is one of the celebrated phenotypes of GSC, the Bay Area cross of OG Kush and Durban Poison. It inherits the balanced-hybrid temperament that made the GSC line famous, along with the mint-chocolate-cookie character the "Thin Mint" name promises. More than a decade after it first emerged, it's still a benchmark cut.

Thin Mintz runs true to its OG-heavy lineage, with dense, compact, sticky buds in forest green that often deepen toward eggplant purple, wrapped in a sugar-frosted layer of trichomes and threaded with bright amber pistils. That heavy resin coverage is the physical signature of the strain the phenotype was originally selected for. The aroma leads with sweet cookie dough and a cool, minty lift, with cocoa and a peppery earthiness underneath. On the palate it moves from mint-cocoa sweetness and cookie cream toward darker chocolate, toasted nuts, and a distinctly peppery finish on the exhale.

The chemistry is what makes this cut punch above its number. Beta-caryophyllene absolutely leads the terpene profile, a peppery, spicy heaviness backed by citrusy limonene and earthy, hoppy alpha-humulene, and it gives the smoke a richness the THC figure alone wouldn't predict. On the experience itself, feedback tends to land on a fast euphoric lift that melts into a warm, body-centered calm within minutes, the kind of arc that suits the afternoon-into-evening window more than a wake-and-bake. Plenty of people keep it around to decompress or quiet a busy head. The batch we reviewed came back at 19% THC with a small showing of CBGA, moderate on paper but full and heavy on the palate.
