Cannabis tinctures can be some of the most concentrated forms of cannabis you find on the market. They’re made by extracting the cannabinoids from the plant via alcohol as the solvent and can be taken sublingually with just a drop or two under your tongue. With these few drops many users have reported that you’re on your way to experiencing the effects that either THC or CBD can facilitate within 10 to 45 minutes depending on the tincture.

Tinctures are extremely versatile, making them a favorite among some medical consumers. They can be added to drinks and food as well as incorporated into cooking. But, perhaps, the simplest way to take a tincture is by placing a few drops under your tongue where it’s quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, and typically acts faster than merely eating or drinking it with a food or beverage that takes time to digest. Users have reported that, when taken sublingually, a tincture’s effects can last between an hour to three hours although it is possible for the effects to last longer for some people.

Cannabis tinctures are sometimes referred to as Green Dragon or Golden Dragon, so keep this in mind if you hear these terms in a casual setting. Their THC and CBD ratios always vary, and you’ll find that there are some made with high levels of THC, some with high levels of CBD, and some that incorporate both into their solution. Depending on the effects you’re looking for, you can talk with a budtender in your local dispensary to help you choose a tincture that may work well for you.
